AN OPEN LETTER TO LINDSAY STEWART

Dear best friend,

hi. i miss you. I am sorry I haven't written back to you on paper, but i have hardly even had time to lurk you on the internet let alone write a letter. please excuse the delay. I will promptly back track your blog posts after this.

I hope Tofino has been treating you well. I am so excited about your bike! Do you love it? How does it feel? do you feel fast and smooth and unstoppable? Do you feel like a new woman? Have you had more "eureka" moments? Amir just bought a new bike too, this time a road bike, and we have been going on many biking adventures. Just the other night he, alex and I biked to my brother's place in Bedford and watched the fireworks on the basin! it was warm enough for shorts but the bugs were bad.

I have many stories for you but here is a funny personal one you will appreciate: I went to presto with my boss the other day while he was in town, and they now sell vitamin water . (a blessing! finally we can get it in canada!) ANYWAYS, I was holding one up to ask the girl behind the counter (who knows me, i don't remember her name but I will always be an associate of the presto gang) if she liked the flavor and DROPPED the entire bottle into a fresh pot of steve's spicy veggie soup!!!!!!! WHAT A TARD!!! I couldn't believe I did that, although I wasn't even embarassed, I just felt soooooooo bad for ruining steve's soup by something so dumb. That was a clumsy day though- I also left my work portfolio on top of my car in my driveway and drove away without realizing. Later that day after an extensive sense of panic I came home to realize all of my important work papers which had flown out onto the grassy park by my house were shredded because the city happened to chose the perfect time to mow. FUCK.

Quick follow ups on some things you may have thought about:

My vegetable garden is coming along nicely but I need to weed it. Almost everything has sprouted, especially the beans, peas, and onions.

My "new" bike has a bunk rear rim so i have to get a new one ordered in. Sucks, but it has just given me an excuse to be speedy gonzales on my road bike.

My work trip to montreal was awesome and i feel really confident about my job lately which rules.

I haven't updated my look at all lately (unlike you with that sassy new haircut) but I have updated my living room with a new fancy throw blanket to cover my sofa and an area rug.

Becky and I had a craft night last night to work on our zine because we haven't had any time at all lately to hang out. BUT SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED: we drank too much wine and then amir and erin cusack came over and while sitting on my back steps and reviewing our work to erin we accidentally left it outside for the night and IT RAINED!!!! A TRAGEDY! but now we will work extra hard to catch up on our loss. some are ok, some are salvageable. don't worry- you will receive a copy the second they leave the press.

Things with Amir are insanely wonderful and I feel happy and healthy and more in love than i have ever felt in my entire life. Maybe this is bold but it feels as though I can safely say I have found my own personal Todd/Zane/special someone. We have been enjoying lots of couple hang outs with alexis and zane and eating the best food ever and enjoying lots of wine. (me, not amir). I now can say that I occasionally drink red wine as well as white! I have even bought myself some bottles. We have all truly been enjoying and exploiting a summer in halifax but it wouldn't be the best unless you were here too. We drink to your happiness and travels every day.

I miss you oh-so much and I am so sorry I miss your calls. I am a busy lady with work so often times I am mid-meeting or something when you call. I think about you a million times a day and wish you were here. What is our time difference? Lets make a date.
